Active Shooter Training

Following a number of high profile active shooter events across the country, department instructors began developing a training program to help people understand what they can do to prepare for such an event.  Since then JPD Instructors have taught numerous active shooter classes to various businesses, church groups, schools, and civic groups.

The Jackson Police Department is committed to protecting human life through prompt response to threats and life threatening events, but obviously can't be everywhere at any given time.  The purpose of the active shooter training is to teach people what to do in the event of an active shooter to protect themselves and others until the police can arrive on scene.  By educating and empowering people, we hope to minimize the danger and save lives.

Please contact the Jackson Police Department to schedule a training session or site walk-through for your work, church, or civic group.
