Special Workshop & Joint Information Meeting | Monday, September 13
Jackson’s Town Council will meet for a Special Workshop from 1:00-3:00pm on Monday, September 13. This Special Meeting is scheduled to focus on Council’s priority items and initiatives including the Future Funding of Local Government and Early Childhood Education. Town Manager Larry Pardee will present about the potential options for funding including a thorough look at historic, current, and future expenditures and revenues. Then, Community Engagement Specialist, Susan Scarlata will present about potential levers for the Town to positively affect Early Childhood Education for parents and guardians of young children.
After that meeting, Town Council will join the County Commission for a Joint Information Meeting from 3:00-5:00pm. The County and Town will both vote on the adoption of Housing Rules and Regulations including changes to qualifications and eligibility, rental standards, and definitions. Housing Manager Stacy Stoker will present these items. Then, START Director, Darren Brugmann will provide an update on the selection of a provider for Microtransit in East Jackson and Winter START service. After that, County and Town Planning Staff will provide both boards an update about the Neighborhood Planning process for Northern South Park. Finally, the Council and Commission will consider approval of a year-end FAA grant to the airport.
