[ARCHIVED] PARKS & RECREATION OPEN HOUSE

May Park aerial fall

PARKS & RECREATION - OPEN HOUSE
TODAY - Tuesday, August 10
TOMORROW - Wednesday, August 11
11am - 7pm (both days)
Learn more about the plan.  Provide feedback!
The event is being held at the Recreation Center gym on Tuesday, August 10 and Wednesday, August 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The public is invited to drop in, ask questions, take a survey, and provide feedback on the many projects that are in the works at Parks and Recreation.
In 2019, the community approved a SPET initiative to fund the Recreation Center expansion, but that is not the only topic that will be discussed at the open house.
“There are many layers to this project and outreach. The Recreation Center expansion is part of it, but we are also growing and improving in many other areas,” said Teton County/Jackson
Parks and Recreation Director Steve Ashworth.
“We want to hear from the public so that we can create a future Parks and Recreation Department that is inviting, inclusive, and accessible to all members of our community.”
After a year-long public outreach campaign in 2017, the Teton County Parks/Recreation Department created a Strategic Master Plan that identified areas where the TCJPRD could improve or increase services to better serve the community. The plan was adopted in 2018 by the Jackson Town Council, and now, it is time to put those plans in motion.
TCJPRD topics at the Open House include plans for:
*  Wayne May Park Master Plan;
*  Powderhorn Park Improvements;
*  Dog Off-leash Areas;
*  Miller Park CUP Improvements, including dog off leash areas;
*  Recreation Center’s 2019 SPET Expansion Schematic Design;
*  Wilson Boat Ramp Improvements; and
*  Facility Accessibility and Program Inclusion Assessment.
Individuals who are not able to attend the Open House are still invited to participate through an online survey, which can be found by clicking on this link:
