[ARCHIVED] NORTHERN SOUTH PARK NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN

Town at Night

The Northern South Park neighborhood will be designed through a planning process that supports and enhances shared community values. To achieve this objective, public participation is essential to this planning process. The following public participation program has been designed by our expert consultant team in consultation with County and Town Planning Staff to engage and integrate community members throughout the planning process. With a focus on efficient plan-making, public participation opportunities range in level of involvement, timing, and format to ensure that input is effective, diverse, and accessible to all.

  • Collaborate: We will partner with the community for advice, support and resources.
    1. A project Steering Committee was appointed by the Board of County Commissioners from members of the public to serve as a working advisory group throughout the planning process. This committee is not a decision making body but will provide feedback on community engagement efforts and plan development during monthly meetings with staff and the consultant team. Steering Committee meetings will be viewable on Zoom. Please check the project website at jacksontetonplan.com/northernsouthpark for regular postings of upcoming meeting dates and Zoom information. The next Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for Friday January 15, 2021 at 9:00am and can be viewed at https://zoom.us/j/96013198804.
  • Involve: We will work with the community to ensure that concerns and aspirations are directly reflected in the neighborhood plan.
    1. Interviews and surveys will be conducted in the coming weeks with members of the public that applied to serve as Stakeholders to share local knowledge and diverse community interests to inform development of the plan. Results of these interviews and surveys will be posted for the public and as a part of the groundwork for the planning effort.

    2. Two Public Workshops will be held during the planning process for any member of the public to participate. Stay tuned for more information on a visioning and plan concepts workshop in February and another public workshop in late spring/summer 2021 to review plan scenarios and alternatives.
  • Consult: We will listen to the community’s concerns, aspirations and feedback and recognize how this input influences the neighborhood plan.
    1. Any member of the public can provide written public comment to Planning Staff at any point in the planning process. All written public comment will be compiled and presented for review by recommending and decision-making bodies prior to adoption of a final plan. Public comment will also taken at all public hearings at which the plan will be reviewed.

    2. A public unveiling of the draft plan will be presented for public consideration prior to adoption of a final plan with a minimum 45 day formal review period.
  • Inform: We will provide the community with information to understand the key issues, alternatives, project goals and implementation steps throughout the planning process
    • For ongoing additional information posted on the project, please visit jacksontetonplan.com/northernsouthpark.

    • If you would like your email to be added to our outreach list for updates and information throughout the planning process, please email kmalone@tetoncountywy.gov.

    • Hearings held by the County and Town Planning Commissions, Town Council, and Board of County Commissioners are informative and open to the public.
