Jackson, Wyo. December 31, 2020 – On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, just before midnight, Jackson Police Officers responded to 355 Deloney Avenue, the Town Creek apartment complex, regarding a possible stabbing. The victim, a 53-year-old male resident of Jackson, was discovered by officers suffering from a stabbing wound.  He was initially transported to St. John’s Health after which time he was transferred to Eastern Idaho Medical Center in Idaho Falls.  No further information on the victim’s condition is known at this time.  

Jackson Police along with Teton County Sheriff Officers are currently on scene and have identified a 38-year-old resident of Jackson as the suspect of the stabbing. After being approached by police, the suspect retreated into his apartment where he is currently located.  The suspect has stepped out of the apartment to the front porch at various points throughout the night.  Each time the suspect has retreated back into his apartment.  During one of these movements to his porch, officers utilized a less-than-lethal-weapon on the subject.   The subject was believed to be hit during this deployment, but appeared to be uninjured.  

Currently there are no additional suspects and Police are asking the public to remain clear of the Town Creek apartment complex at this time.  Residents living in this apartment building have been evacuated and relocated to a local hotel.   

The situation is on-going and further updates will provided once additional information is obtained.
