START Bus to Consider Additional and Schedule Changes to Teton Valley Commuter Service
Jackson, Wyo. August 17, 2018 – The START Bus Board will meet on Thursday, September 13 to consider offering an additional commuter run to Teton Valley, Idaho. START Bus has received increased Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding to be distributed through the State of Idaho to financially assist with this possible addition. The new run being considered would depart from the Driggs Community Center on weekdays at 8:00 AM and return to Teton Valley departing Jackson at 7:15 PM.
In addition to discussing the potential increase in service, the START Board will also consider changes to the current Teton Valley commuter time schedule. One possible change being considered is moving the current 6:00 AM departure to a 5:50 AM departure. These possible additions and changes can be found on the START Bus home page (www.startbus.com) under the “News” section.
“Throughout the year, activities occur within our community that can affect our transit system – traffic patterns, economic factors, ridership and customer feedback,” said START Bus Director Darren Brugmann. “Securing funding through grant opportunities with the federal government is why we are able to offer this additional line. We respond by considering and implementing changes to our bus system that will potentially help improve our service and meet the needs of the community.”
START Bus Board considerations to Teton Valley commuter services:
- Adding a new weekday commuter bus service departing Driggs at 8:00 AM and returning to Teton Valley departing Jackson at 7:15 PM.
- Changing the departure time of the existing Teton Valley commuter service from 6:00 AM to 5:50 AM.
