Beginning on July 20th, START Bus will be re-introducing a higher level of service similar to the Summer 2018 schedule to Teton Village in order to accommodate the needs of employers, visitors and community members who ride the bus between Teton Village and Jackson to work, shop and recreate. START Bus has worked directly with the Teton Village Association and with Teton Village employers to identify the best level of service that would fulfill these needs.
“The START Board would like to thank the Teton Village Association and Teton Village employers for working with us in an effort to provide needed trips even during this time of restrained budget,” said Darren Brugmann, START Bus Director.
Beginning on July 20, 2020 the following changes will be implemented 7 days a week:
- Additional Green Line trips from Jackson to Teton Village at 7:00 am, 9:00 am, 6:30 pm, 8:30 pm, and 10:30 pm
- Additional Green Line trips from Teton Village to Jackson at 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 5:30 pm, 7:30 pm, 9:30 pm, and 11:30 pm.
This change is the second increase in service since right-sizing measures to service began in March due to COVID-19. START Bus has been experiencing incremental ridership increases as businesses and local attractions re-open.
Please note that even with this service increase, START Bus is still operating on a modified Summer Schedule. To see the full schedule please follow this link: https://www.jacksonwy.gov/404/Schedules
Public transportation has remained an essential service operating throughout the current COVID-19 pandemic, and START Bus continues to be committed to addressing safety protocols throughout the system.
START Bus is working closely with local health organizations and continuing to take proactive measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These measures include, but are not limited to, frequent cleaning schedules for buses, requiring all START Bus Operators to wear a mask, having hand sanitizer available on each bus for public use, and requiring that members of the public wear a mask while riding START Bus (following Town Ordinance 1255).
With the need for social distancing on START buses, passenger loads are monitored across the system and staff will continue to work towards right-sizing services based on community need and in conjunction with recommendations made by local health authorities.
START will continue to evaluate the level of service provided as further service adjustments may be necessary.
START appreciates the community’s understanding as we continue to monitor the best way to safely service the community.
