In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town has added options to its online public meeting tools, including tools specifically for public participation. If you would like to listen and view the public meeting as before, you are welcome to use the existing feature on the Town website and the meeting will be streamed live at: www.jacksonwy.gov/live. A recording of the meeting will be archived on the Town’s website and available within a few hours following this meeting.
Due to recommended social distancing practices the public is encouraged to view the meeting online and to participate remotely. Elected officials, presenters, and staff members may not be physically present at the meeting and may all be participating remotely. Because of this, there will be appropriate pauses throughout the meeting to facilitate smooth participation by these parties.
If you would like to make public comment on items at this meeting, your options are below:
- Public comment can be sent anytime via email to council@jacksonwy.gov. This email address goes directly to each council member’s inbox and is placed in the public record.
- Public comment can also be made in real-time, and remotely using the Webex platform.
a. In brief, those wishing to make verbal public comment may do so by joining the Webex meeting and using the ‘hand raise’ feature in order to be recognized.
b. When joining the meeting, pursuant to Wyoming Statutes and as required on the Webex platform, please provide your first and last name and your email address. You will be prompted for a password (which is “toj”) and that is included in the instructions below.
c. Those that “raise their hand” electronically for public comment will be heard by all those participating remotely and watching the meeting. The video will not be projected, only audio.
d. Those wishing to make public comment that have not provided a valid name will not be recognized and will not have the ability to speak.
e. Those using the Webex telephone call-in feature only will not be recognized.
f. The Webex chat feature will be disabled and unavailable.
g. Specific instructions are below for using the Webex platform.
3. Public comment can be made via an identified email and read at the Council meeting.
a. Email must be received by the Town Clerk no earlier than the last regular Town Council meeting and no later than 1 hour prior to the meeting.
b. Emails must be sent to PublicComment@jacksonwy.gov and must be in the following format:
i. Subject line must state the meeting date (month-day) and the agenda item title. For example, public comment regarding a liquor license application on the April 6th meeting would have the following in the subject line: “04-06 Liquor License Application for Denny’s Diner.”
ii. For general, open public comment taken at the beginning of meetings on items not listed on the agenda, the subject line must state the meeting date (month-day) and “04-06 General Comment.”
iii. These emails that will be read in a meeting are limited to 3 minutes, and therefore the word count for your comment should not be greater than 300 words.
iv. Public comment will be read as written except for threatening, obscene, foul language, or the like.
4. Public comment can be made in-person at the Town Hall. However, as noted above, elected officials may be participating remotely, so you may be speaking only into a microphone without the Council present. Also, even though the government is exempt, due to the Public Health Order prohibiting gatherings of 10 or more people and for public safety, the Town of Jackson will be managing the social distance of the public in attendance.
Webex Instructions: To attend the meeting remotely for the purposes of making public comment, please use the following URL and password to join the meeting.
The Webex link will change for each meeting and be posted at the top of each agenda.

Once logged in to the meeting, please familiarize yourself with the platform and its tools. Of particular importance is the “raise hand” feature. Please locate this tool if you desire to make public comment. This is the method by which we will know you want to make public comment during the meeting and enable your audio at the appropriate time. Otherwise, your audio will remain on mute.
If you’ve not used Webex before, you may be required to download Webex’s tools and/or software and apps. The Webex platform, its tools, and apps are provided by Webex directly. As these components are from a third party, we aren’t able to provide support directly to end users. If you should have trouble with the platform, please reference Webex’s help resources at https://help.Webex.com/en-us/
We encourage early log in to Webex for any given meeting. Generally, the Town of Jackson strives to have the platform ready at least 10 minutes before a listed meeting’s start time.
Please understand for this meeting, just like any meeting, uncivil discourse, threatening language, or meeting disruption will not be allowed from those making public comment.
