Fifth Annual Snow King Hill Climb to Honor  Emergency Responders Lost on 9/11

Emergency responders climbed the stairs of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 to save lives and to make sure no one was left behind.

On September 11, 2020, Jackson Hole emergency responders will climb Snow King Mountain to remember that selfless act of courage.

Jackson Hole Fire/EMS will climb Snow King Mountain this year not only in memory the lives lost on 9/11, but also to show support to our community through Old Bill’s.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to join Jackson Hole Fire/EMS any time between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020 to hike Snow King and pay tribute to the 412 emergency workers who gave their lives on 9/11.

Typically performed in larger cities as a stair climb, it is only fitting for our community to use Jackson’s town hill.

The climb is not timed, but a way to honor and remember those that gave their lives so that others may live.

Stop by Phill Baux Park to receive a badge with the pictures and names of all first responders who lost their lives on 9/11.

Participants will be asked to wear one of the badges to honor the first responders as they climb Snow King.

Participants who climb Snow King on 9/11 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. will also receive a t-shirt to remember the occasion.

The goal is for every badge of a first responder who lost their life on 9/11, to make it to the top of Snow King.

In addition to the Snow King hill climb, the Jackson Hole emergency response community will continue to hold an annual 9/11 memorial ceremony on the Town Square at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020.
