The Town of Jackson has released for public comment three draft documents that 1) establish a new Historic Preservation program, 2) update the zoning standards for the Town Square area, and 3) establish a new Town Center Design Overlay that provides architectural standards to protect the western character of the Town Square area.
The public may review all of the proposed materials, including narrated videos that summarize the proposed changes, and take a survey at the following link: http://www.jacksontetonplan.com/307/Historic-Preservation-Town-Square-Zoning. Please refer to this website for all updates to the proposed documents and for the project’s review schedule, such as public hearing dates.
The Town Planning Commission will hear this item at 5:30 P.M. on September 2, 2020. The Jackson Town Council will also be hearing this item in the near future. This meeting is currently pending, but it will be announced once a date is set.
Participants are encouraged to attend all public meetings remotely by using the meeting link on the “agendas” page of the Town’s website. Public comment; however, will be accepted at any time and may be sent to Tiffany Stolte at tstolte@jacksonwy.gov. The Town’s goal is to adopt the updated regulations and design guidelines by the end of 2020.
“We are really excited about these proposed changes because they have the potential to really help the community preserve its heritage and character, especially around the Town Square, in ways that are new for the community,” said Jackson’s Planning Director Paul Anthony.
