The following is an overview of the Town Council’s actions taken at their meetings on Monday, February 4th:

JOINT INFORMATION MEETING
Town Council and County Commissioners
February 4, 2019
3:00 PM

• The Council and Commission authorized the Housing Department to purchase a house on S. Sage Meadow Road for an amount not to exceed $575,000. Subsequent to that purchase, it was recommended that the Housing Department record a Workforce Ownership Restriction on the unit and sell it to a qualified household.

• The Council and Commission approved a Request for Proposals to develop affordable housing at 440 W. Kelly Avenue and directed staff to release the RFP on February 5.

TOWN COUNCIL REGULAR EVENING MEETING
February 4, 2019
6:00 PM

• The Council approved meeting minutes and disbursements as presented.

• The special event for the Rendezvous Concert on Town Square was approved.

• Because of three identification compliance check failures resulting in sales of alcohol to a minor, the Council suspended the Virginian liquor license for 120 days beginning March 25th.

• The Construction Management Plan for the 112 Center Street hotel project was approved.

• The Council approved revisions to the Snow King Planned Resort District Master Plan and directed staff to bring those back in final form at the March 18 regular Council meeting. The Sketch Plan for the Snow King Planned Resort District Master Plan was continued to March 18. Council directed staff to bring Lease Agreements between the Town and Snow King Mountain and any other entries back to a workshop or regular meeting with proposed revisions that would achieve the desired outcomes associated with the implementation of the Snow King Planned Resort District Master Plan and the Forest Service Master Plan.

• Resolution 19-03 was approved adopting six-month amendments to the fiscal year 2019 budget.

• Ordinances A through S were approved at first reading pertaining to LDR clean-ups.

Matters from the Mayor and Council included travel approval for any Councilor to attend the housing conference in Denver on February 27. Kudos were given to Public Works for their successful efforts in dealing with the snow load.

• The Town Managers report contained an update on joining the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). Jonathan Schechter was appointed as the council liaison to ICLEI.
