Council Meetings NewsFlash (1)

Starting at 10:00am on Monday, October 2, Town Council will hold a Special Meeting in its Chambers. This meeting will begin with a call to order and roll call. Then, Town Council will carry out Planning Commission & Board of Adjustment interviews.

Next, Council will hold an Executive Session to discuss personnel matters and consider litigation to which the governing body is a party or proposed litigation to which the governing body may be a party. The final items at this meeting will be appointments to the Planning Commission, which will take place before adjournment. 

At 1:30pm Town Council will meet with the County Commission in its chambers for a Joint Information Meeting. The meeting will begin with a call to order, roll call, announcements, and public comment about items that are not on the agenda. The two elected bodies will then consider meeting minutes on the consent calendar and move to discussion and action items. START Director Bruce Abel will present an amendment to START’s budget for the airport shuttle pilot. Following that, Parks & Rec Director Steve Ashworth will present about relocating the cow pasture ballfields. Then, Housing Director April Norton will present an updated request for proposals for an Affordable Workforce Housing Development at 90 Virginian Lane. This meeting will conclude with Matters from Council, Commissioners, and staff, if any by 5:00pm. 

Town Council will reconvene for its Regular Meeting starting at 6:00pm. After Mayor Morton Levinson calls the meeting to order, roll call, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Town’s Land Acknowledgement, Morton Levinson will read an announcement about the ReMatriate installation on the lawn of Town Hall. Mayor Morton Levinson will also read Proclamations about Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Fall Clean-Up. Then, the Mayor will introduce the Town’s new Water Utility Operation, Shawn Holden. After that, the Mayor will announce time for Public Comment about items not on the agenda.  
 
Then, Council will consider the consent calendar including meeting minutes, disbursements, a temporary sign permit, the Lower Valley Energy Sewer Connection Agreement, the JH Classical Academy Connection Use Agreement Amendment, and a Template for Crane Agreements.

Next, under ‘Public Hearings, Discussion, and Possible Action Items,’ Assistant Town Manager, Roxanne Robinson will present an amendment to Council Rules and Procedures. Following that, under ‘Resolutions,’ Town Attorney, Lea Colasuonno will present Resolution 23-19: A Resolution Regarding the Policy and Procedure for the Naming of Public Places.

After that, Council will consider the following Ordinance Readings:  

  1. Ordinance W: An Amendment to the Official Zoning Map for Karns Meadow

The meeting will conclude with Matters from Mayor and Council, the Town Manager’s report, and an update about the Town and County’s Joint Funding Committee. 

This meeting will take place in the Council’s chambers and via Zoom. Public comment will be taken on discussion items at this meeting. Attendance and participation are welcome both in person and virtually, details below.
