  • Hands free devices required while driving: The Town of Jackson wishes to promote a safe environment for drivers and pedestrians alike. While driving in town, it is prohibited to use a cell phone for making calls or texting without the aid of a hands free device. Additionally, the State of Wyoming prohibits texting while driving. (MC 10.04.355)
  • Open container: The Town of Jackson prohibits open containers of alcohol to be carried on public streets.
  • Public intoxication: The Town of Jackson prohibits a person from being in a public place while they are intoxicated to the point of being unable to care for themselves, or if they are a danger to themselves or others. (MC 9.36.010)
  • Winter street maintenance: From November 1st to April 15th, the Town of Jackson prohibits parking on public streets and parking lots from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. to help facilitate snow removal activities. Vehicles parked in violation are subject to ticketing or tow. (MC 10.04.220)
  • Dogs and Cats Prohibited in Town Parks: The Town of Jackson prohibits cats and dogs from entering into or being on any town park. (MC 7.05.020 J) The only exception to the ordinance is service animals, which are protected by the Americans With Disabilities Act.  Click here for more information on Service Animals.
