START BUS INCREASES CAPACITY & SERVICE TO TETON VILLAGE

START Bus at Village Side View

Responding to a new exemption from state health orders, today the Town Council and Board of County Commissioners voted to increase START bus seating to 75% of capacity. This will mean that 30 passengers at a time can ride each bus, whether they are commuter lines or not.

Last week, the Teton County Board of County Commissioners and Town Council approved a contract with Salt Lake Express allowing START to add fives buses to increase service levels from Jackson to Teton Village. These additional buses increase daily passenger capacity by approximately 720 seats. Additional buses through Salt Lake Express at peak morning and evening hours coupled with today’s expansion of capacity overall should mean plenty of space for folks to ride the bus to Teton Village this winter.

START Bus is working closely with local health organizations and continuing to take proactive measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic including but are not limited to: frequent cleaning schedules for buses, requiring all START Bus operators and passengers to wear masks, having hand sanitizer onboard, improved air flow and filtration systems and the installation of dividers for driver protection.

Per Teton County Public Health Order #20-6, face coverings are required while riding START Bus. Please DO NOT ride START Bus if you choose not to wear a face covering. START Bus continues to offer face coverings on all START Buses and hand sanitizer for the public to use upon boarding, and for the duration of the trip. Please DO NOT ride START Bus if you are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. Please check www.startbus.com for details on all routes, schedules and fees or contact START Bus directly at (307) 733-452.
