As part of the Town of Jackson government work, there are many volunteer, citizen committees.

Have some free time on your hands? 
The Town is looking for volunteers to serve on community boards.

Letters of interest are now being accepted for the Board of Examiners and Planning Commission.    See below for detailed information and how to apply.

Board of Examiners

Members of the Board of Examiners shall be residents of the Town of Jackson or Teton County, Wyoming.  There are two seats available for 2-year terms.

The BoE is made up of tradespeople from the mechanical, plumbing, electrical and building trades or others who have knowledge of such issues.  They assist with the Contractor Licensing program and reviews qualifications of applicants licensed in other jurisdictions, or applicants who have not passed the WAM contractor license exam, to determine an applicant’s eligibility for a Town of Jackson license.

The BoE also serves as the Board of Appeals as required by the building code, in order to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the Building Official relative to the application and interpretation of the building code.

Letters of interest should be addressed to the Town Council, Attn: Town Clerk.

Planning Commission / Board of Adjustment

There are two seats available for 3-year terms on this board.  Applicants must be residents and qualified electors of the Town for a minimum of 2 years prior to their appointment and may not hold any other public office or any position within the Town government. Although no specific experience is necessary, persons with knowledge in planning, architecture, natural resource management, real estate, or a related field would be helpful.
