Long Term Goal
To ensure a variety of housing opportunities exist so that at least 65 percent of those employed locally also live locally.
Action Steps
- Implement the growth management policies identified in the comprehensive plan
- Update land development regulations to implement the comprehensive plan
- Sustain Jackson’s unique character through approval of developments reflecting that community character
Long Term Goal
To timely, efficiently, and safely deliver quality services and facilities in a fiscally responsible and coordinated manner.
Action Steps
- Adopt and implement the 10 year Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
- Adopt and implement the annual budget to define desired service levels and support long term goals including funding for the first two years of capital projects identified in the CIP.
- Present and advocate for statutory changes to create a Real Estate Transfer Tax that would provide operational funding for public safety.
- Present and advocate for statutory changes to amend Lodging Tax distribution to more fully support visitor impacts.

To move residents and visitors safely, efficiently, and economically within our community and throughout the region using alternative transportation.

- Develop a Flat Creek Corridor to addresses the ecological, recreational, and aesthetic values of the corridor, while respecting the existing uses and/or property rights along the corridor.

- Complete nonresidential land development regulations.
- Develop tour bus parking on King Street.
- Optimize parking management strategies for downtown.
- Balance special events with community character.
