Funded by 2017 SPET for Town of Jackson Pedestrian Improvements. This SPET item is for the purpose of planning, design, engineering, and construction of pedestrian improvements including sidewalks, crosswalks, and ADA facilities within the Town of Jackson. The project includes constructing sidewalks in three locations:
April through June 2021
The Town repairs spots on streets each spring and fall to address locations that are deteriorating, typically due to seasonal freeze-thaw cycles and aging road surfaces. Patching and crack sealing help extend the useful life of road segments between resurfacing or reconstruction efforts to reduce overall costs to maintain them.
April 15-May 29, 2021
In total, 25,071 square feet of patching is scheduled for the spring of 2021. Locations of these patching projects include:
The entire Cache Creek Tube project consists of removing and replacing 3,350 LF of a very eclectic, old, and obsolete collection and conveyance system of Cache Creek and stormwater drainage entering it. Phase 2D of the Cache Creek Tube extends the section of Tube along Bruun Blvd (N Willow St) into Broadway to connect with the existing storm drainage system where a section of Tube in Bruun Blvd and improved drainage infrastructure in Broadway were constructed last summer. In this Phase the Town will also install a new stormwater treatment unit at this location. The treatment unit will be partially paid for by a WY DEQ grant.
April through June 2021
The Town of Jackson’s water supply system includes three zones. Zone 3 serves west Jackson and currently the system produces just enough water to meet demand during peak summer usage. The Town is exploring Rangeview Park as a possible location for a new water supply well (Well 9). The new well will help ensure enough water supply for firefighting during the peak demand periods and will provide for future demand in conjunction with a new Zone 3 water tank project, which is also currently undergoing feasibility analysis. This project is funded by a Groundwater Exploration Grant from the WY Water Development Commission.
Mid-April through mid-June 2021
The project involves upgrading approximately 1,160 linear feet of sanitary sewer mains. The old mains are vitrified clay tile and will be replaced with PVC pipes. Construction staging for the project will be in the public right-of-way on the south side of Cache Creek Dr and west side of Redmond St. This project is funded by the Wastewater Enterprise.
The Town’s chip seal program helps to provide a well-maintained roadway network at an affordable cost. Chip sealing creates a durable street surface and extends its useful life so that larger road resurfacing and reconstruction projects occur less frequently.
August through mid-October, 2021
A portion of this sewer line will be replaced as part of the Snow King Gondola Construction. This project involves the immediate downstream section of pipe, which needs to be upgraded to a larger size and steeper slope to improve flow. The Town is aligning this project with the major construction taking place at Snow King to reduce disturbance in the area.
